Bangkok is the capital and 8,160,522 registered residents, the largest city in Thailand. The population of the entire metropolitan area is estimated at some 15 million inhabitants. The city is located on the eastern bank of the Chao Phraya River, near the Gulf of Thailand. The province borders six other provinces Bangkok: Samut Prakan, Samut Sakon, Chachoengsao, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi and Nakhon Pathom. Bangkok is famous tourist destination.
